The total value of assets held by investment funds in Saudi Arabia increased by 4% to SAR 121 billion in Q2 2023, compared to SAR 116 billion in Q1 2023, data issued by the Saudi Central Bank (SAMA) showed.
The rise was attributed to a 31% year-on-year (YoY) increase in foreign assets, which represent 22% of total assets, to SAR 26.7 billion. Meanwhile, local assets, which constitute 78% of the total, shed 1% to SAR 94.4 billion.
Total assets of open-end funds amounted to about SAR 92.9 billion, while closed-end investment funds’ total assets were valued at SAR 28.1 billion.
