The Royal Commission for AlUla has appointed France’s Alstom to provide trains and systems used in AlUla Tramway during the Future Investment Initiative (FII) forum.

The tramway showcases RCU’s innovation and commitment to sustainable transportation, championing green mobility by encouraging bicycle, equestrian, and pedestrian modes of transport. The tramway will connect centers, neighborhoods, heritage sites, and tourist sites.

With 20 trains, the tramway will operate on a 22.4 km line with 17 stations.

AlUla Tramway was designed in cooperation with French transportation company SYSTRA Group. It will connect AlUla International Airport to five major historical areas in the governorate.

The agreement was signed in the presence of Minister of Transport and Logistics Saleh Al-Jasser and RCF CEO Governorate Amr Al-Madani.
