Saudi holdings of US Treasuries up to $112 bln in August

Saudi Arabia’s holdings of US Treasuries reached $112 billion in August 2023, up $2.8 billion month-on-month, new data released by the US Treasury showed.

 

The Kingdom maintained its 18th place among the largest holders of US Treasuries for the month.

 

Saudi Arabia’s holdings of US Treasuries were distributed among long-term bonds worth $100.5 billion, representing 90% of the total, and short-term bonds worth $11.5 billion, accounting for 10%.

Japan was the top holder of US Treasuries in August, with nearly $1.11 trillion. China came in second with $805.4 billion, as the following table shows:
