Saudi Arabian banknotes
Mortgages provided to individuals and corporate clients by commercial banks in Saudi Arabia grew by 15% to around SAR 731.3 billion in Q2 2023, from SAR 638.3 billion in the year-ago period.
Individual mortgages, which accounted for 80% of the total, increased by 16% year-on-year (YoY) to nearly SAR 582.3 billion in Q2 2023, updated data from the Saudi Central Bank (SAMA) showed.
Meanwhile, mortgages provided to corporate clients reached approximately SAR 148.9 billion in Q2 2023, rising 10% YoY.

According to SAMA, consumer loans fell slightly by roughly 0.4% YoY to SAR 443.95 billion during the three-month period.
Consumer loans include renovation and real estate improvement loans, car loans, loans for personal transportation, along with education, healthcare, tourism, travel, furniture, durable goods and other loans.
