The Shura Council will discuss the recommendations of the Security and Military Affairs Committee on amending the Premium Residency Law on Sept. 11, Al Riyadh newspaper reported.

The Premium Residency Law and its Regulations came into force in May 2019, Argaam earlier reported.

Under the law, premium residency is for an unlimited period or one renewable year. Premium residency holders also enjoy some benefits, including residency with their families in the Kingdom, as well as visit visas for relatives, and the right to own real estate for residential, commercial, and industrial purposes. In addition, they may work in the private sector establishments and move between them.
