Khalid Almudaifer, Vice Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources
The stereotype about the mining sector changed, as the industry is currently witnessing great and radical development, Saudi Press Agency reported, citing Khalid Almudaifer, Vice Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources.
This comes after the adoption of the latest technologies that contributed to improving operations and increasing safety levels, which helped the sector play an active role in improving the quality of life, Almudaifer added.
He noted that this was through creating job opportunities, developing infrastructure, and promoting sustainable development.
The ministry also aims to enable male and female entrepreneurs and small investors to achieve their aspirations. It also seeks to develop the skills of emerging explorers and employ their abilities to serve their country and achieve Vision 2030 goals.
Estimates show that the world needs more than $3 trillion to fulfill growing demand for the mining sector in the future, which requires doubling the Kingdom's production of vital minerals five to six times, Almudaifer said. He added that this requires injecting more investments in minerals exploration to face the challenges of growing demand from target sectors.
