The board of The Company for Cooperative Insurance (Tawuniya) approved, on Sept. 3, appointing Othman Alkassabi as CEO, according to a Tadawul filing.
The decision is effective as of today, Sept. 6.
The top executive holds a Master's degree in International Management and Leadership from Al Yamamah University, and another in Business Administration from Hochschule Furtwangen University, before securing a Bachelor's degree in Rehabilitation Sciences-Physical Therapy from King Saud University.
Bringing over 17 years of experience in the healthcare industry to his new role as CEO, Alkassabi held a number of key positions prior to his appointment, including Executive Director of Supervision and Enablement, Acting Executive Director for Communication, and Spokesperson at the Council of Health Insurance (CHI).
Alkassabi also held management positions for business development in the healthcare sector in several medical facilities across the Kingdom, including King Faisal Specialist Hospital & Research Centre and Sultan Bin Abdulaziz Humanitarian City (SBAHC).
Alkassabi first joined Tawuniya as Executive Director for Health and Life, the company’s largest sector. On April 3, he was appointed as Acting CEO.
