Al Moammar Information Systems Co.'s (MIS) business is expected to continue its positive growth momentum throughout the second half of 2023 and achieve outstanding performance, CEO Abdullah bin Ghazi Al-Ghamdi told Argaam

Contract orders in the second quarter of 2023 reached about SAR 574 million, compared to nearly SAR 406 million a year ago, he added.

Moreover, the total value of backlog reached about SAR 1.4 billion year to date, while the volume of projects in the pipeline stands at about SAR 2.3 billion.

The CEO indicated that the rise in profits was backed by several factors, including control over operating costs, revenue growth in the core business segments, purchase orders and new contracts, the volume of works in the pipeline, and customer base expansion.

Al-Ghamdi added that the projects that contribute the most to the revenues depend on their nature. Revenues stem from various technical solutions, support and maintenance services, technical infrastructure and cybersecurity services, in addition to the services of application monitoring systems and other systems.

Speaking about the external auditor’s notes on receivables and expected credit losses, the top executive said that the external auditor was unable to conclude the right classification of trade receivables, as well as current and non-current contract assets in the consolidated preliminary financial statements based on the applicable business model, which was already approved by the previous external auditor to determine the company’s provisions.

“Therefore, we believe the external auditor needs sufficient time to review the used business model as well as the receivables and contract asset balances to decide whether the model adopted by MIS for recording provisions is or not sufficient and if it complies with global standards,” he added.
