The number of employees working in the Saudi building and construction sectors, who are subject to social insurance regulations totals nearly 2.54 billion in Q1 2023.
Expatriates subject to social insurance regulations accounted for around 85.5%, or 2.17 million, of total employees, compared to 14.5%, or 368,000 Saudi workers, Al Eqtisadiah newspaper reported, citing updated data.
Males made up about 2.39 million employees, compared to 154,200 females.
Riyadh came first in terms of employees in the construction sector, with 47.3%, or 1.2 million. It was followed by Eastern Province (673,200) and Makkah (447,300).
