The Saudi Economic Association (SEA) has been closely watching and studying women's participation in the local economic development since the launch of Vision 2030, SEA’s Chairperson Dr. Norah Al-Yousef told Argaam.

She added that the symposium is part of the initiative that was launched with workshops and symposiums in 2016 to discuss activating and empowering the role of women, as well as the continuously supporting them to reach prestigious leadership positions.

SEA monitors women's entry into the labor market and increased opportunities available for them in the private sector. In addition, the association aims to analyze the level of women's participation and contribution to local economic development.

The "Women’s Role in Economic Development” symposium was held on June 21 under the patronage of Princess Sara bint Khalid Al Saud and SEA, and in cooperation with the National Labor Observatory. It included six activities, including this symposium.
