Riyadh and Jeddah moved forward on the Global Liveability Index 2023 in an annual report prepared by the Economist Group's Economic Intelligence Unit (EIU), in its ranking of 140 cities.
Riyadh and Jeddah advanced to take the 103rd and 107th positions on the index, respectively, compared to their rankings in 2022, the state-owned SPA reported.

The index evaluation is based on five categories, namely stability (with 25% weight), culture & environment (with 25% weight), healthcare (with 20% weight), infrastructure (with 20% weight) and education (with 10% weight).
In order to achieve the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030, the Quality of Life Program seeks to include three Saudi cities among the world's top 100 on liveability indexes by 2030 through improving the quality of life of citizens, residents, visitors and tourists. This is by providing new options that enhance their participation in cultural, entertainment and sports activities.
