The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia officially submitted today in Paris its bid to host Expo 2030 in Riyadh, thus becoming the first country to officially submit it bid.

Prince Mohammed bin Salman, Crown Prince, Prime Minister, and Chairman of the Royal Commission for Riyadh City, said that preparations for Expo 2030 will be completed by 2028.

"We are fully confident about our ability to accomplish Expo", he said, adding that the Kingdom expects to receive about 120 million persons in 2030.

Earlier, Saudi Arabia submitted an official bid to the Bureau International des Expositions (BIE) to host Expo 2030. The Kingdom is competing with South Korea, Italy and Ukraine to organize the Expo, Argaam earlier reported.

By the end of November, during the 171st General Assembly of the BIE, the 170 member countries will vote to elect the winning country.
