Sahara International Petrochemical Co. (Sipchem) restarted operations at its  affiliate, International Methanol Co. (IMC) after completing scheduled maintenance on June 3.

The periodic maintenance was completed as scheduled. It will have a financial impact on the plant, as it will enhance reliability and cut costs in line with the company’s future operational plans, the company said in a statement on Tadawul

The relevant financial impact will appear in Q2 2023, Sipchem added, noting that necessary actions were to limit the potential impact on customers.

In April, the petrochemical producer announced a scheduled shutdown of its affiliates IMC and International Diol Co. (IDC), to carry out maintenance in line with the established standards for the necessary routine and preventive maintenance, Argaam reported.

The shutdown was scheduled to start on May 1, and last five weeks.
