President Joe Biden signed Fiscal Responsibility Act of 2023 into law on Saturday afternoon to avoid the US defaulting on government debt.
 
The US House of Representatives voted 314-117 in favor of a crucial debt-ceiling bill.
 
The Senate voted 63-36 to approve the bill, which was sent to the US president for approval.
 
Biden said the bipartisan deal was a great victory for the economy and the American people.
