Khalifa Al Khalifa CEO of Bahrain Bourse
One or two companies will be offered through ‘Tabadul’ digital exchange platform, which includes Bahrain, UAE and Oman stock exchanges, by year-end, Khalifa Al-Khalifa, CEO of Bahrain Bourse, told Argaam on the sidelines of the Arab Federation of Capital Markets (AFCM) in Muscat.
He said the digital platform is the first of its kind across the region, adding it allows investors to trade in other markets through local brokers, which lowers transaction costs.
Bahrain Bourse seeks more linkages with other regional stock exchanges after it linked with Abu Dhabi and Muscat stock exchanges.
Al Khalifa disclosed a well-studied action plan to offer several government companies over the next four years as part of the economic recovery plan.
The details will be revealed in due course.
Bahrain’s hosting of the Middle East Investor Relations Association (MEIRA) underscores the importance of investor relationships and motivates companies to excel in this field, he added.
