Eastern Province Cement Co.’s board of directors decided to invite specialist companies to submit offers to establish a new production line to replace some of the obsolete lines at the current plant in Khursaniyah.
The expected capacity of the new production line is 10,000 tons/day, and it aims to maximize the benefits from the infrastructure of the current plant, the cement producer said in a statement to Tadawul.
The company holds an exploitation license for limestone in Khursaniyah region, in addition to the limestone exploration license for Najibiya.
The cost of the project will be announced after studies are completed, the statement said.
In September 2012, Eastern Cement’s board of directors approved establishing a new production line with a capacity of 10,000 tons/day as some lines went obsolete, Argaam earlier reported.
In April 2015, studies and legal implementation procedures for the new production line were completed.
