Alinma Tokio Marine Co. (Alinma Tokio) received, on March 16, the final decision of the Appeal Committee for the Settlement of Insurance Disputes and Violations on the insurance claim filed by the plaintiff, Anjum Makkah Hotel.

The decision upheld the First Instance Committee’s dismissal of the plaintiff’s claim.

In a statement to Tadawul, the company stressed that the committee’s decision is final, indicating that obtaining this court ruling in Alinma Tokio’s favor will not impact the insurer’s financials.

Any material developments in this regard will be announced in due course.

On February 9, 2022, the company announced that a client company, insured against all property risks for the period from 2020 to 2021, for SAR 386,000, filed a case against Alinma Tokio demanding compensation for COVID-19 damages, Argaam earlier reported.

Last August, the insurer received the General Secretariat of the Committees for Settlement of Insurance Disputes and Violations’ preliminary ruling of dismissing the insurance claim filed by Anjum Makkah Hotel.
