The Saudi Ports Authority (Mawani) signed today, Feb. 7, an agreement to establish a logistics hub at King Abdulaziz Port in Dammam for United Electronics Co. (eXtra).

 

In a statement, the authority said it provided eXtra with a land plot spanning over 32,000 square meters (sq m) to construct yards and storage warehouses near the port to serve importers and exporters, at nearly SAR 35 million, inclusive of the construction cost. The center will be equipped as a main hub to receive and unload containers, and then distribute goods to the other warehouses of the company.  

 

King Abdulaziz Port contains 43 berths with full services and equipment, which enables it to receive giant ships with a capacity of up to 105 million tons of goods and containers. In addition, it has a number of specialized stations and advanced equipment, and modern handling equipment that enables the port to handle various types of goods and provide comprehensive services. The port has an integrated logistics area of ​​100,000 sq m.
