The Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development (HRSD) announced the inclusion of Sri Lanka in its earlier decision obligating establishments that provide mediation services in the recruitment of domestic workers not to exceed the ministry’s highest ceiling.

The maximum limit for recruiting domestic workers from Sri Lanka was set at SAR 15,000, excluding the value added tax (VAT), the ministry added.

Last September, the ministry began requiring all establishments that provide mediation services in recruiting domestic workers not to exceed the highest ceiling of costs, according to Argaam's data.

The ministry set the maximum limit for recruiting domestic workers from Uganda at SAR 9,500, Thailand (SAR 10,000), Kenya (SAR 10,870), Bangladesh (SAR 13,000), and the Philippines (SAR 17,290), excluding VAT.
