Saudi Arabia’s Real Estate Registration Law will allow every real estate unit to have its unified digital identity, describing its location, area, and nature, in addition to its rights and obligations, in order to preserve owners’ rights.
According to a tweet by the Real Estate Future Forum, digital identity in the title deed will have the force of irrefutable evidence, as it easily records all developments and modifications to the property.
The forum pointed out that the deed under this law will facilitate selling and purchasing properties, reduce disputes, and enhance confidence in the real estate sector.
Thus, it raises market efficiency, boosts investment in the sector, and increases its contribution to the gross domestic product (GDP).
Last September, Tariq Al-Hefdhi, Deputy Governor of Operations at the Real Estate General Authority (REGA), said the authority intends to gradually start implementing the Real Estate Registration Law in cities.
Riyadh will be among the target cities during the first stage, indicating that the application mechanism may include more than one city in each stage if the factors that accelerate the application of the law are available, Al-Hefdhi noted.
