Tihama Advertising and Public Relations Co. received today, Jan. 12, a notification from the company's lawyer on the upholding of the decision of the Committee for Adjudication of Competition Law Violations and the rejection of the appeal submitted by the General Authority for Competition (GAC) before Riyadh’s Administrative Court to challenge this decision.

This came during the session held on Jan. 11 at Riyadh’s Administrative Court.

The judgment deed will be received later, the company noted in a statement on Tadawul, adding that the financial impact cannot be determined at this time and any material developments will be announced in due course.

Earlier this week, Tihama said that GAC filed an appeal before Riyadh’s Administrative Court to challenge the decision of the Committee for Adjudication of Competition Law Violations to dismiss the lawsuit against the company, according to data compiled by Argaam.

GAC previously filed a lawsuit before the adjudication committee against Tihama, demanding a fine not exceeding 10% of the total sales and not less than SAR 10 million, when it is impossible to estimate the sales.

The committee's general secretariat decided on March 29, 2022, to dismiss the lawsuit against Tihama, due to lack of evidence.
