Saudi Arabia allocates SAR 400 mln for qualification of 100,000 citizens in local tourism sector: Minister

Saudi Minister of Tourism, Ahmed Al-Khateeb, stressed the importance of localizing the tourism sector and enhancing the role of citizens in its growth and prosperity.

 

He added that the ministry allocated SAR 400 million to train and qualify 100,000 citizens to work in the local tourism sector, Saudi Press Agency reported, citing Al-Khateeb during his monthly meeting with the operators of hospitality facilities and investors in the Kingdom.

 

He added that 10,000 young men and women are being trained outside the Kingdom, indicating that the ministry has so far completed the training of 80,000 young people, and they are now ready to work.

 

"The ministry is still proceeding to reach the target number," Al-Khateeb said.
