Saudi Arabia has 44 modern method of construction (MMC) factories in various regions of the Kingdom, with a production capacity of more than 25,000 units annually, Saudi Press Agency reported, citing Abdullah Albudair, Vice Minister of Municipal, Rural Affairs and Housing.
He added that the move is part of the Modern Construction Initiative adopted by the ministry, noting that 22 factories were financed to operate with a production capacity of 27,000 units annually to enter the construction and building sector.
The initiative targets to build 80 to 90 factories over the next five years, which will offer more than 114,000 direct and indirect jobs, the official said, adding that this will help the Kingdom secure a leading position in the modern construction area.
