Saudi banks’ retail, corporate mortgages up 24% to SAR 662.7 bln in Q3 2022

Mortgage loans provided to retail and corporate clients by commercial banks in Saudi Arabia increased 24% to nearly SAR 662.7 billion in Q3 2022 from SAR 533.4 billion a year earlier, according to data issued by the Saudi Central Bank (SAMA).

 

Loans to retail clients, accounting for 80% of total mortgage loans, jumped 28% year-on-year (YoY) to approximately SAR 529.6 billion in the three-month period.

 

Corporate loans grew by 10% YoY to SAR 133.12 billion in Q3 2022.

On the other hand, consumer loans grew by 9% YoY in Q3 2022 to reach SAR 448.1 billion, according to the report.

 

In addition to mortgages, they include cars and equipment, travel, education, and home improvement loans.
