Mohammed Al-Tamimi, Governor of the Communications, Space & Technology Commission (CST), said that the size of the technology market in Saudi Arabia exceeded that of the telecommunications sector, reaching SAR 73 billion by the end of 2021, compared to SAR 71 billion, to become the largest in the region.

The government support that was pumped into the digital infrastructure has stimulated the private sector to invest more than SAR 85 billion in digital infrastructure during the past five years Al-Tamimi indicated, during the 2023 Budget Forum held today, Dec. 11.

He added that this has led to an improvement in quality and rise in Saudi Arabia’s position on global indicators, to rank second globally after China in digital competitiveness. It is the sixth among the G20 countries in terms of regulatory maturity and harmony between the public and private sectors.
