Minister of Health Fahad bin Abdul Rahman Al-Jalajel said that the year 2022 has witnessed a qualitative and historic leap in the health transformation process, especially with the approval of setting up the Health Holding Company, the establishment of the National Insurance Center to finance those services, and separating between the organizer, service provider and finance provider.

The Ministry of Health has made strong strides in this field, as medicines and supplies have been outsourced to the National Unified Procurement Co. (NUPCO) that currently provides all logistical services, the minister added, during his participation in the 2023 Budget Forum.

He stressed that the health sector in the Kingdom is already applying "human health first" in all its contents, which was witnessed during the pandemic and as seen in the budget and the unlimited support that the health sector receives to provide services to citizens.

The year 2022 witnessed the inauguration of 88 health facilities in all regions of the Kingdom, including Jazan public hospital, said the minister, adding that such process will be completed next year through establishing and opening more hospitals.

He also noted that the 2023 budget includes projects that were facing challenges during the past years and will be completed.
