NWC starts implementation of 11 projects worth SAR 4.3 bln in Eastern Province

National Water Co. (NWC) announced the launch of the implementation phase of 11 projects for the desalinated water distribution system in Dammam, Khobar, Al-Ahsa and Qatif, according to a statement.

 

It added that the projects include the implementation of more than 316 linear kilometers of conveyor and main lines, the construction of operational reservoirs, with a capacity of 1.5 million cubic meters. This is in addition to projects to improve water networks at a total cost of more than SAR 4.3 billion.

 

Engineering designs for the projects have been completed, the sites for the construction of operational reservoirs have been prepared and the implementation materials and equipment have been supplied to begin laying the pipes of the main and secondary lines in December, said the company, noting that this is expected to be completed within 14 to 26 months, to serve more than four million beneficiaries.

 

These projects will be implemented using the best and most recent technologies, and in coordination between all relevant parties to ensure speedy completion of projects and to maximize their benefit. They will contribute to strengthening the infrastructure of the distribution system, while ensuring the continuity and efficiency of its operations in the cities and governorates of the Eastern Province, NWC stated.
