Saudi Arabia plans to auction five new licenses for the exploration of copper, zinc, silver, lead and iron for local and foreign investors, said Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources Bandar Alkhorayef.

 

He added that the ministry will launch the bidding process later for the licenses in Bir Umq, Jabal Idsas, Umm Hadid, Jabal Sahabiyah, and Ar Ridaniyah.
 

Bir Umq, located in Mahd ad Dahab Governorate, Madinah, spans ​​more than 187 square kilometers (km²), and contains copper and zinc.
 

Ar Ridaniyah covers ​​more than 78 km² in Al-Dawadmi Governorate, Riyadh, and includes zinc and silver ore deposits.
 

Umm Hadid is located in Al Quwaiiyah Governorate, Riyadh. It spans more than 246 km² and contains a large stock of silver, lead, zinc and copper.
 

Jabal Sahabiyah, located in Tathleeth Governorate, Asir region, covers an area of ​​more than 283 km² and contains deposits of zinc, lead, copper and iron.
 

Jabal Idsas is located in Al Quwaiiyah Governorate, Riyadh, over 121 km². It includes deposits of iron ore.
 

This coincides with the ministry's participation in the International Conference on Mining and Resources (IMARC) in Sydney, Australia from Nov. 2-4.
