The number of tourists in Saudi Arabia is expected to surge 300% by 2030, said Ahmed Al Khateeb, Minister of Tourism.

On a panel discussion at the Future Investment Initiative (FII) Conference, the minister added that the Kingdom managed to record historical figures as regards the number of tourists and tourist spending.

He noted that Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman seeks to help the tourism sector contribute 10% to GDP and to make the Kingdom one of the best global destinations.

The state has a clear vision for the tourism sector, hence developed plans and provided all resources, especially the financial resources, in order to achieve this vision and make more breakthroughs, Al Khateeb said.

He added that the Kingdom will have several opportunities to secure a leading position.
