Yamama Cement Co. announced today, Oct. 13, completing the construction of the new cement plant in the northern Halal area in Al-Kharj governorate, at a total cost of about SAR 4.7 billion.

 

The commercial operation will start on Nov. 1, the cement producer said in a bourse filing.

 

The financial impact will reflect from the fourth quarter of 2022.

 

Yamama Cement inked an agreement in 2015 with Germany’s ThyssenKrupp Industrial Solutions to build a SAR 4.2 billion facility, which includes a 20,000-ton clinker plant, according to data available on Argaam.

 

The company had planned to build two production lines at the cost of SAR 2.7 billion; a power plant at SAR 470 million; a gas facility at SAR 420 million; a crude oil project at SAR 280 million; a residential city at SAR 300 million; and surrounding roads at about SAR 30 million.
