Saudi Arabia has become the largest technological power in terms of programming and encryption, said Abdullah Alswaha, Minister of Communications & Information Technology.
“Saudi Arabia, led by Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, is a data center and artificial intelligence (AI) hub,” the minister said on the sidelines of the Global AI Summit today, Sept. 13.
Saudi Arabia is delivering AI training courses to more than 70,000 candidates, Alswaha said, adding that AI has enabled the use of geographical data to halt desertification and random plantation, in addition to saving in one year the equivalent of water wasted in three years.
Saudi Arabian Oil Co. (Saudi Aramco), the largest data and AI user, utilized methane sensors, Internet of things (IOT), data, AI to introduce the cleanest activities in the upstream segment.
Further, automated services will be powered by artificial intelligence with net-zero carbon emissions in The Line in NEOM mega city, he noted.
