Maaden’s ‘Tharwah’ local content program to create 47,000 jobs by 2040

Saudi Arabian Mining Co. (Maaden) launched its local content program, Tharwah, at the inaugural Local Content Forum in Riyadh.

 

The program is focused on maximizing the mining industry’s contribution to Saudi Arabia’s economy in line with Vision 2030.

 

Maaden estimates spending SAR 55 billion on goods and services by 2040 to support operations, yielding an additional SAR 33 billion in local content contribution, enabling it to contribute SAR 88 billion to Saudi Arabia’s gross domestic product.

 

The company also noted that the Tharwah program aims to create up to 47,000 local jobs by 2040.

 

The program focuses on five key pillars: people, businesses, SMEs, remote areas and supply chain.
