Omar Hariri, President of MAWANI
The expansion of Gate 9 at Jeddah Islamic Port will contribute to raising the truck capacity and shortening the travel time from the port to the logistics areas, Saudi Ports Authority (MAWANI) President Omar Hariri said.
Hariri explained on his Twitter account that this is in line with the integration of transport patterns and facilitation of trade and supply chains.
Earlier this week, MAWANI, in cooperation with the Emirate of Makkah Province, launched the expansion of Gate 9 of Jeddah Islamic Port, following its development and paving the Western Road of the Saudi Aramco refinery.
The project aims to enable exit of trucks through four lanes, with 3,600 to 8,000 trucks per day, which accelerates their movement and shortens the travel time between Jeddah Islamic Port to the warehouse area in Al-Khumra from 40 to 25 minutes, while allowing the road to remain open around the clock.
