Saudi Arabia produces 1.5 mln tons of dates annually, 2021 dates exports reach SAR 1.2 bln

The Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture (MEWA) stated that the Kingdom produces and exports more than 300 types of dates, with production exceeding 1.54 million tons annually.

 

The value of the Kingdom’s dates exports amounted to SAR 1.22 billion, which contributed to making the dates sector one of the most important national exports.

 

The Kingdom ranked first globally last year in terms of the value of dates exports, according to the TradeMab website of the World Trade Center.

 

The dates production season starts from June to November in various regions, and the Kingdom is characterized by producing the best types of dates.

 

Saudi Arabia has more than 33 million palms, and the number of holdings exceeds 123,000 in 13 administrative areas.
