Saudi Arabia received 62 million tourist visits this year, divided into 29.5 million international and 32.5 million domestic visitations, respectively, recent data from the Saudi Tourism Authority (STA) showed.
The STA targets 55 million and 45 million international and domestic visitations, respectively by 2030.
Based on the 2022 key indicator, contribution to the Kingdom’s gross domestic product (GDP) reached 5.3%, with 836,000 new jobs created.
The tourism sector is a key pillar in realizing the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 to contribute to diversifying national economy, attracting investments, boosting income sources and creating jobs for nationals. This is attained through a system that comprises the Ministry of Tourism, Tourism Development Fund, and STA, the authority added.
