Saudi social insurance subscribers rise to 9.08 mln in Q1 2022: GOSI

Saudi Arabia’s General Organization for Social Insurance (GOSI) said a total of 9.08 million private-sector employees were registered in the social insurance scheme by the end of Q1 2022, an increase of 7%, compared to 8.52 million in Q4 2021.

 

Insured citizens, who account for 25.9% of the total private sector subscribers, increased by 106,100 to 2.35 million in Q1 2022, compared to Q4 2021.

 

The number of insured expatriate workers increased by 451,800 quarter-on-quarter (QoQ) to 6.72 million in Q1 2022. They account for 74.1% of the Kingdom’s total private sector subscribers.

The services sector accounted for 45.2% of the total subscribers in Q1 2022 with more than 4.1 million employees, followed by the basic engineering profession, which represented 18%, or 1.63 million workers.
