Tadawul: QFIs net buyers by SAR 34.5 bln in H1 2022, Saudis net sellers of SAR 4.93 bln

Qualified foreign investors (QFIs) were net purchasers of SAR 34.5 billion worth of stocks on the Saudi Exchange (Tadawul) in H1 2022, up by 174% year-on-year (YoY), compared to SAR 12.58 billion in the year-ago period, according to data issued by Tadawul.

 

QFIs bought a total of SAR 186.31 billion worth of shares and sold some others at a total value of SAR 151.81 billion in H1 2022.

 

QFIs include SWAP holders, qualified investors, resident investors, discretionary portfolio management (DPMs) and strategic partners.

 

March recorded the second highest value of net foreign purchases of SAR 14.87 billion. The table below shows the value of shares traded by foreign investors in the Saudi market during the first half of 2022:

Net sales of Saudi individuals among all categories amounted to SAR 4.93 billion in H1 2022, compared to SAR 19.35 billion a year earlier.

 

Net purchases by Saudi investors stood at SAR 731.79 billion, against net sales worth SAR 736.72 billion.

 

Saudi investors include retail, high-net-worth and individual professional investors as well as individual DPMs.

 

January recorded the highest net retail sales of SAR 7.26 billion during the six-month period, as follows:
