The Saudi Cabinet decided to amend the Saudi Export Development Authority Law, as per a recommendation from the Council of Economic and Development Affairs, Umm Al Qura newspaper reported on May 13.

Accordingly, the authority will be concerned with the development of non-oil exports in the Kingdom, including goods and services, as well as re-exporting.

Furthermore, the authority will communicate with similar entities outside the Kingdom and private entities to exchange experiences, as well as develop mechanisms for cooperation and partnership, as per the relevant procedures.

The authority will also qualify and grant licenses to the providers of export house services.

It will establish the necessary incentive programs for the export activity and support the programs established by other entities to develop exports.
