National Water Co. (NWC) awarded 15 new contracts of projects that support the infrastructure of its water system in Jeddah Governorate, at a cost of more than SAR 1.6 billion.
Under the new contracts, a total of seven projects will be implemented, at a cost of more than SAR 1.3 billion, including main lines and water carriers with lengths of more than 154 linear kilometers, and of different diameters, within a period of 24 to 36 months, the company said.
It added that the projects will link the transport lines and strategic and operational reservoirs in the governorate with the distribution system, to serve several neighborhoods in Jeddah.
The other eight contracts, totaling SAR 339 million, include the implementation of water sub-networks with lengths exceeding 704 linear kilometers, which will serve several neighborhoods in the city, NWC explained.
The new projects will contribute to serving more than half a million beneficiaries, increasing the coverage of NWC’s services and raising their level, NWC indicated.
