Khaled Al-Khudair, Chairman, NCLE
As much as 12-13% of total number of students in Saudi Arabia are enrolled in private schools, National Company for Learning and Education (NCLE) Chairman Khalid Mohammed Al-Khudair said.
Speaking in a video interview with Argaam on the sidelines of Al Yamamah University Family Business Forum 2022, Al-Khudair said Saudi Arabia seeks to increase its private-school enrollment rate to 25%, in line with Vision 2030.
Private schools should provide students with qualitative features as students pay tuition fees in return for better education, said Al-Khudair, adding that a Saudi Ministry of Education-affiliated committee is evaluating private-school fees.
Al-Khudair highlighted that NCLE is weighing many acquisitions and new projects as part of its strategy. He also indicated that the company grew 200% in size since listing, with 10 educational complexes.
