First Milling CEO says Saudi Arabia produces 20 mln bags of flour annually

Saudi Arabia’s total annual production of flour reaches nearly 900,000 tons, representing more than 20 million bags weighing 45 kilogram (kg) each, Okaz newspaper reported, citing First Milling Co. CEO Abdullah Al-Babtain.

He added that the flour bags of 1 kg and 45 kg are sold at SAR 2.5 at SAR 22, respectively.

First Milling constantly seeks to maintain high inventories, which are currently estimated at more than 450,000 bags of 45 kg each and are pumped into the markets to cover customer needs of flour.

An operational plan was developed to fulfill the market requirements and meet any potential growth in demand, Al-Babtain noted.
