The increase in consumer price index (CPI) was mainly driven by a 4.3% year-on-year (YoY) rise in the average prices of transport, driven by 26.7% growth in gasoline prices.

Food and beverage prices also grew by 2.4% YoY, due to a 2.6% rise in food prices, which, in turn, were impacted by a 9.7% increase in vegetable prices.

Meanwhile, the housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels sector declined by 0.2%, due to a 0.3% fall in housing rents.
