INTRA Defense Technologies expects to set up a drone manufacturing plant in Saudi Arabia during the second quarter of this year with a total investment of over SAR 700 million, Abdulaziz AlHussain, Director of Business Accounts, told Argaam on the sidelines of the World Defense Show.
The plant’s production capacity of Haboon and Asef drones will stand at nearly 18 and 48 aircraft of all sizes, respectively.
INTRA Defense seeks to be a key player in drone systems and the supporting systems globally.
The company also unveiled its Samoom system (class four) and the Asef system chain (one and two) with vertical take-off, in addition to the Haboob system, which served the Saudi Armed Forces for more than 18,000 hours, AlHussain added.
INTRA is working on manufacturing its entire systems locally in Riyadh through a plant specialized in the manufacturing of drones, a plant for the engineering, maintenance and repair of electro-optical systems, achieving Saudization rate of 75%.
Moreover, the company finalized the development of some systems, which will be manufactured in the second quarter of this year. INTRA is licensed by the General Authority for Military Industries (GAMI) to develop and produce drones, AlHussain elaborated.
INTRA Defence Technologies is a private hi-tech company that designs, develops, manufactures, and fully supports high performance and innovative unmanned aerial systems (UAS).
