Ministry of Industry issues 67 mining licenses in January

Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources issued 67 mining licenses in January.

In a statement, the ministry indicated that the licenses include 63 licenses for building materials quarries, three exploration licenses and one survey license.

Accordingly, the total number of effective mining licenses in the sector reached 1,989, topped by the building materials with 1,115 licenses and exploration with 633.

Riyadh dominated the largest number of effective mining licenses of 406, followed by Makkah (375), Eastern Province (288) and Madinah (232).
