Saudi Kayan approves appointment of SABIC’s new representative to board

Saudi Kayan Petrochemical Co.’s board of directors approved a request by Saudi Basic Industries Corp. (SABIC) to changing its representative to Saudi Kayan’s board.

Fahad Al-Sherehy (non-executive member) is the new representative, who will replace Khalid Al-Garni (non-executive member), who joined the board on March 20, 2021. The new appointment will be effective as of today, March 1.

Al-Sherehy holds a PhD degree in chemical engineering from the University of British Columbia in 2002, and a Master’s degree in chemical engineering from Salford University in 1997. He also earned a Bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering from King Saud University in 1990.

He has 32 years of experience in the petrochemical industries. He held various positions in SABIC, and currently serves as Vice President of Energy Efficiency and Carbon Management.
