Prince Khaled Al-Faisal, Advisor to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and Governor of Makkah Province, inaugurated today, Feb. 27, 72 water and environment projects in Makkah at a cost of more than SAR 15 billion.
The Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture on its official Twitter account said that the projects include five for desalinated water transmission, at a cost of more than SAR 6 billion, and five other projects for the production and storage of desalinated water, at a cost exceeding 4.9 billion.
A total of 23 water transmission and distribution projects have been launched at a cost of SAR 1.1 billion, along with seven other water distribution projects at a cost exceeding SAR 378 million, and four projects to develop water resources at a cost of more than SAR 38.8 million, the ministry added.
It also said that 26 environmental services projects have been launched at a cost of more than SAR 1.9 billion, in addition to two projects to increase vegetation at a cost of SAR 24 million.
