A total of 19,400 households benefited from the various housing solutions offered by the Ministry of Housing’s Sakani program in January 2022, including 18,890 families that have already moved into their new homes, Saudi Press Agency reported.
This included families that benefited from the subsidized mortgage options to buy ready-made units (more than 7,000 families) and the self-construction product (3,000 families). Meanwhile, more than 6,000 families benefited from residential land areas, and 1,500 other families benefited from subsidized mortgage loans to buy under-construction units.
Sakani program provides 114 under-construction projects, in partnership with real estate developers, including 149,000 residential units that vary from villas, apartments townhouses, most of which are located in seven major housing districts in Riyadh, Jeddah, Dammam, Madinah, Khamis Mushait, at an average of SAR 700,000.
Sakani program said earlier that it targets 180,000 new families in 2022, through providing them with diversified housing solutions and options. It added that 130,000 out of the180,000 families will reside in their houses this year, noting that over 100,000 subsidized real estate loans will also be provided, according to Argaam's data.
