Saudi Arabian Mining Co. (Maaden) announced the completion of the construction and pre-commissioning activities for the third ammonia plant in Ras Al-Khair.

In a statement to Tadawul, Maaden said the trial production has started and commercial production is expected in the third quarter of 2022.

The financial impact will reflect after the completion of the trial production and start of the commercial production.

The remainder engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contract, signed by Daelim Industrial Co. Ltd. and Saudi Daelim Co. Ltd., is to test and ensure the performance and reliability of the plant in order to reach the target capacity.

There is no change in the scope of the project and, therefore, the associated costs have not changed, the statement said. In October 2018, Maaden said it awarded Daelim Industrial Co. Ltd. and Daelim Saudi Arabia Co. Ltd. a SAR 3.35 billion contract to construct a 1.1 million tpa ammonia plant at Ras Al-Khair, Argaam reported.
