Saudi Automotive Services Co. (SASCO) announced that it appealed the decision of the Zakat, Tax, and Customs Authority (ZATCA) to amend the Zakat declarations for 2014-2018, according to a bourse statement.
It added that the 2014 objection session will be held on April 20.
The firm escalated the issue before the Appeal Committee for the years from 2015 to 2018 and no date was set for the session yet.
The relevant financial impact cannot be identified currently, SASCO said, adding that it will announce any developments in due course.
In December 2020, SASCO received letters from ZATCA requiring it to adjust its Zakat reports for the period from 2014 to 2018, and pay Zakat differences worth SAR 12.33 million, Argaam reported.
On Oct. 26, 2021, the company received a statement from the company’s Zakat consultant regarding letters from ZATCA to amend the Zakat declarations for years 2014 to 2018. In addition, the firm received an email from the General Secretariat of the Tax Committees (GSTC) stating that the case was dismissed, as the grievance was submitted to the special committee after the statutory period.
