Abdulrahman Al-Fadley Minister of Environment, Water, and Agriculture said investment in the waste sector will create promising opportunities to shore up economy.

The national environment strategy aimed to enhance the institutional framework of the environment protection system. The environment system was restructured, and an environment fund with five centers was established, Al-Fadley added in his speech today, Jan. 13, in the Future Minerals Forum (FMF).

Laws on meteorology, environment and waste management were adopted. These laws and the related executive regulations clarified the duties of related parties to strengthen environmental compliance, leverage on all types of waste and encourage new technologies.

Al-Fadley stressed that there is no contradiction between the enhanced compliance with environmental regulations and economic growth, as all indicators clearly show that the countries adhering to environment protection have strong economic growth.

Enhanced environment protection has become an important demand to lure investments. The ministry seeks to consolidate its partnerships with government authorities, the private sector, voluntary societies and individuals to continue economic development and achieve sustainable development.
